LOCK HAVEN — Slippery Rock High graduate and Slippery Rock University freshman Ethan Geisler finished second in the 400-meter hurdles a the Elliston Invitational at Lock Haven University Saturday.

Geisler ran a time of 54.55 seconds in the event. He also placed third in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.53 seconds.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Driving four wide, the lead on the line, Ron Hornaday Jr. bumped Johnny Sauter, sending their trucks into tire-smoking slides. At nearly 45-degree angles, going over 150 mph, both drivers white-knuckled their steering wheels. Somehow, almost miraculously, they both straightened out.Sauter stayed in front after his improbable save, holding off the hard-charging Hornaday to win a wild, rain-delayed NASCAR trucks race at Kansas Speedway on Sunday.

LAS VEGAS — Fighting more aggressively than usual, Floyd Mayweather Jr. overcame a near knockdown in the second round Saturday night to dominate the rest of the way and win a lopsided 12-round decision over Shane Mosley in their welterweight showdown.Two ringside judges scored it 119-109 for Mayweather, while the third had it 118-110.
