Slippery Rock University recognized nearly 2,650 dean's list students at its annual academic honors convocation Sunday.

Receiving an honor was Harrisville resident

Seth Sykora-Bodie, who was runner-up for the state university system's Syed R. Ali-Zaidi Award for academic excellence. He was awarded $500 for his efforts.That award covers all students at the 14 state system universities.Professor David Dailey and assistant professor Richard Marchand received President's awards for Creative and Scholarly Achievement, and Excellence in Teaching, respectively.
