SHIPPENSBURG — Butler Elementary wrestlers Christian Sequette, 9, (93 pounds) and Scott Dietrich, 11, (95 pounds, finished fifth and sixth, respectively, at the 2010 Middle Atlantic Wrestling Association Western Regional Championship over the weekend.

Since only the top four places, the two are alternates for the Eastern National Wrestling Championships in Salisbury, Md., in May.

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Jeff Reed has signed his $2,814,000 tender offer.Reed is the most accurate kicker in Steelers history, converting 83.3 percent of his career attempts (189 of 227). He was 27 of 31 last season.Reed, who was in position to become a free agent before being designated as the franchise player, is hopeful of signing a long-term contract.

PITTSBURGH — Penguins backup goaltender Brent Johnson has signed a $1.2 million, two-year contract extension that runs through the 2011-12 season.Johnson will make $600,000 each season.Johnson had a 10-6-1 record, a 2.76 goals-against average and a .906 save percentage in his first season as the backup to Marc-Andre Fleury, who is signed through 2014-15.
