Julie Heitzer and Chris Hertz

An Aug. 7 wedding is being planned by Julie Heitzer and Chris Hertz, both of Pittsburgh.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Ray and Doreen Heitzer of Butler. Parents of the prospective bridegroom are Bob and Carol Hertz of Pittsburgh.

The bride-elect is a 2000 graduate of Butler High School and a 2004 graduate of Penn State University. She received a master's degree in education from Duquesne University in 2009. She is employed by Shady Side Academy in Pittsburgh.

Her fiance graduated in 1993 from Central Catholic High School and in 1997 from the College of Wooster. He received a master's degree in 1999 from the University of Stirling in Scotland. He is employed by Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.
