PALM SUNDAY OPENS HOLY WEEK
Parishioners at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler receive palms March 22, 1964, following Palm Sunday Mass to kick off Holy Week. Sunday is Palm Sunday, and many churches will provide palm branches to commemorate Jesus Christ's triumphant entry into Jerusalem nearly 2,000 years ago. Holy Week continues with Holy Thursday and Good Friday and concludes April 4 with Easter, celebrating Christ's resurrection.
