Betty Gladd
Betty Gladd, 85, of Butler, formerly of Hilliards, passed away at 6:15 p.m. Friday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Feb. 11, 1924, in Hilliards. She was the daughter of the late John Cook and Lillian Walley Cook.
She had been employed by Allegheny Plastics as a machinist and was a plastics welder at P-Wall Manufacturing in Grove City. During World War II, she had been employed at Armco.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Butler and was a former member of the Hilliards Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son, James P. Nestoff of Denver and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Gladd, who passed away Aug. 31, 1997; five sisters; and six brothers.
<B>GLADD</B> — Friends of Betty Gladd, who died Friday, Feb. 7, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6:30 to 8:30 Tuesday at the <B>William F. Young Funeral</B>, 132 Main St., West Sunbury. Funeral services will follow at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. James Lewis, pastor of the Hilliards Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Rosewood Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Hilliards Methodist Church Carpet Fund.
