Rudolph E. 'Rudy' Vido
Rudolph E. "Rudy" Vido, 88, of Zelienople, formerly of West Mayfield, Beaver County, died Wednesday at Passavant Retirement Community, Zelienople.
Born Sept. 12, 1921, in New Brighton to the late Stephen and Helen (Pataj) Vido, he was a member of St. Gregory Church, Zelienople. Formerly a member of St. Philomena Church, Beaver Falls, Rudy had been an active volunteer in the parish council, the church choir, as a Eucharistic minister, a lector and a member of the Top 50 Club.
He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army 13th Airborne Division during World War II, and he retired from Babcock & Wilcox as a lathe operator after 42 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Caroline A. (Jute) Vido, on March 29, 2009; and two sisters, Mary Vido and Steffie Ramponi.
Surviving, are his children and their spouses, Carol Anne and Michael W. Taylor of Raleigh, N.C., Rudolph J. and Patricia Vido of Owings Mills, Md., Marilyn and Michael Senneway of New Braunfels, Texas, and Nancy and Mark Senatore of Shelby Township, Mich.; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Angeline Wilson of New Brighton, Agnes Midon of Beaver Falls and Margaret and Robert Monroe of Lexington, Ohio; seven grandchildren, David Senneway and his fiancee, Belinda Brown, Kathleen Senneway, Mary Katherine and Caroline Marie Vido and Daniel, Robert and Patrick Senatore; and numerous nieces and nephews.

"Rudy" Vido, who died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in <B>LUTTON CHIPPEWA FUNERAL HOME</B>, 117 Blackhawk Road, Chippewa Township, www.luttonfuneralhome.com, where prayers will be offered at 9:20 a.m. Tuesday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Philomena Catholic Church with Father James Farnan as celebrant.
