Mary L. McClymonds
Mary Lou McClymonds, 76, of Butler died at 9:06 a.m. Thursday in the Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia.
Born April 26, 1933, in Coraopolis, she was the daughter of the late Allen H. Locke and Elizabeth I. Dodd Locke.
In her earlier years, Mrs. McClymonds taught in the elementary schools for the Butler School District. Later, she was the manager for the Salvation Army Thrift Store in Lyndora.
Mrs. McClymonds was a member of Whitestown Road Baptist Church in Butler, and she was very active in her church. She also was a member of Tanglewood Senior Center in Lyndora.
Mary Lou is survived by her son, Allen and his wife, Selena McClymonds of Butler; two daughters, Pam and her husband, John McKivigan of Butler and Linda and her husband, Rick DeSantis of Tampa, Fla.; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; three sisters, Darlene Tidball of Robinson Township, Ruby and her husband, Don, Tidball of Robinson Township and Clover McCullough of Irwin; and her sister-in-law, Grace McClymonds of New Castle.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Harry E. McClymonds, who she married in 1957, and who died Jan. 15, 1985.
<B>MCCLYMONDS</B> — Friends of Mary Lou McClymonds, who died Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St., Butler. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Whitestown Road Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Gould of Whitestown Road Baptist Church officiating.
