Helen R. Oesterling
Helen R. Oesterling of the Lowrie House, formerly of West North Street, Butler, died at 5:30 a.m. Monday in the Lowrie House.
Born in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Homer C. Rider and Lauretta McCandless Rider.
Mrs. Oesterling was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mrs. Oesterling was a former member of the Eastern Star and several bridge clubs.
Mrs. Oesterling is survived by one daughter, Carol Miller of Clear Spring, Md.; one son, Alan Oesterling and his wife, Penny, of Etowah, N.C.; one granddaughter, Melinda Marquess and her husband, Wayne, and their children, Reuben and Leanna; two grandsons, Jason Oesterling and his wife, Janeen, and their children, Caden, Luke and Elijah, and Craig Oesterling and his wife, Sarah; and by several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is her Yorkie dog, Chester.
Mrs. Oesterling was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Oesterling, who passed away May 23, 1999; one sister, Lynda Gagne; and one brother, Sherman L. Rider. Also preceding her in death was her dog, Patches.
<B>OESTERLING</B> — Friends of Helen R. Oesterling, who died Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St., Butler. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum at Butler County Memorial Park with the Rev.
