Eleanor Catherine Sontag Montgomery

Eleanor Catherine Sontag Montgomery, 80, of Portersville died Saturday at Allegheny General Hospital.

She was born Dec. 22, 1929, in Pittsburgh and was the daughter of Paul J. Sontag and Catherine Kunz Sontag.

She was a Christian. She had been a secretary for the Pittsburgh Presbytery.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Frank (Amy) Mahon of Greenville, S.C.; two sons, Mark Montgomery of Buena Vista, Pa., and Brian Montgomery of Canyon Lake, Tenn.; and 12 grandchildren.

Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Jerry (Alice) Majdecki of Maryville, Tenn., Mrs. James (Ruth) DePhillips of Sewickley, Mrs. Steve (Peggy) Stewart of Bridgeport, W.Va., and Mrs. Chuck (Kathy) Holzer of Norton, Ohio; and a brother, Bob and his wife, Mary Ann, Sontag of Bethel Park.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert S. Montgomery, who she married Aug. 13, 1949. He died July 29, 1996. She also was preceded by two sons, a grandson and a brother.

<B>Montgomery</B> — Visitation for Eleanor Catherine Sontag Montgomery, who died Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Jay BRyan Funeral Home</B>, Prospect. Funeral services will follow at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Greenlawn Burial Estates and Mausoleums.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a Haiti relief fund.
