Capuano

Our loving father Vincent R. "Red" Capuano, 89, of Summit Township, Butler, was born into eternal life Tuesday.

He was born Aug. 19, 1920, to the late Anna Maria (Shialabba) and Vincent Capuano in the Brookline section of Pittsburgh, where he lived for 55 years. He then moved to Gibsonia where he owned the Cobble Shop for 20 years. He retired to Butler 15 years ago.

Vincent was a corporal in the Marine Corps during World War II, where he served in the South Pacific.

Vincent was a member of Saint Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman, where he was an usher. He also was a member of the Marine Corp League and the Tanglewood Senior Center.

Vincent loved to play cards, to go dancing with his friends and to garden.

Vincent is survived by his children, Father Vincent J. Capuano, S.J., Christopher F. Capuano, Mara Capuano Sluk, Timothy and Maryann Capuano, Elise (Capuano) and David Santi and daughter-in-law Cheryl Capuano.

He had a special loving relationship with all 11 grandchildren, Abigail L. Sluk, Andrew V. Sluk, Emily E. Sluk, Peter D. Sluk, Martin J. Sluk, Vincent S. Capuano, Timothy J. Capuano, Elizabeth Capuano, Nicholas A. Capuano, Ian E. Santi and Blaine D. Santi; and great-grandson, Steven Sluk.

Vincent was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret J. (Philips) Capuano; his second wife, Romaine (Waigan) Capuano; his sisters, Angelina Garofalo and Frances Cacica. and his brothers, Joe Capuano and Angelo Capuano.

"Red" Capuano, who died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the<B> Martin Funeral Home</B>, 429 Center Ave., A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Saint Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Herman.
