BUTLER TWP — Unbeaten Butler wrestler Cole Baxter, who is ranked No. 5 in the state, will face sixth-ranked Jermaine Easter of Erie Cathedral Prep as part of a dual match Friday night at the Butler Intermediate High School gym.The Golden Tornado will face Cathedral Prep at 6 p.m., then they take on Meadville afterward.Butler will host McGuffey and West Allegheny Saturday. West Allegheny faces McGuffey at 10 a.m., followed by Butler-McGuffey and Butler-West Allegheny dual matches.

GREENVILLE — Derek Workman, a member of the Thiel College men's soccer and track and field teams, was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Month.Workman, a 2007 graduate of Mars High, has a 3.6 GPA and is an education major.

NEW YORK — The New York Knicks traded Darko Milicic to the Minnesota Timberwolves Wednesday, perhaps the former No. 2 overall pick's final stop before he returns to Europe.The Timberwolves sent Brian Cardinal to New York and received cash considerations along with Milicic, who was unhappy with the Knicks and would have been waived had they not found a deal for him.

MARANA, Ariz. — Ross McGowan of England rolled in a 30-foot par putt on the 19th hole Wednesday to beat Steve Stricker, only the second time in the Match Play Championship that the No. 1 seed was beaten in the opening round.On a day dominated by news of Tiger Woods, golf's biggest star managed to have an influence at Dove Mountain.McGowan only got into the 64-man field because Woods didn't enter while on his indefinite break from golf. That also elevated Stricker to the No. 1 seed, and he became the first top seed since Woods in 2002 to lose in the first round.
