Sherry Lee Pridemore Mateer, 58, of Plain Grove Road, Slippery Rock, Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County, died in her home at 8:25 p.m. Friday.

She was born in Grove City on Aug. 29, 1951, the daughter of Harold Edward Pridemore and Ardis Louise Hogg Pridemore.

She graduated from Grove City High School in 1969 and attended the University of Pittsburgh.

Ms. Mateer owned and operated Mateer Labradors and Cuddlespice Cockapoos in Plain Grove since 1979.

She is survived by a son, Matthew S. Mateer of Butler; a daughter, Danielle R. Barnard of Volant; her mother, Ardis Knight and her husband, Henry of Mercer; her father, Harold Pridemore of Grove City; and nine grandchildren, Kelsey Disque, Legend Mateer, Lauren Barnard, Emily Barnard, Tyler Barnard, McKenna Lawrence, Serenity Lawrence, Savannah Freeman, and Zoey Freeman

<B>MATEER — </B>Friends of Sherry Lee Pridemore Mateer, who died Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, will be received from 4 to 7 p.m., Monday at <B>SMITH FUNERAL HOME, </B>421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in South Plain Grove Cemetery, Plain Grove Township, Lawrence County.
