Margaret S. Hartman, 83, of Portersville died Wednesday night at the Passavant Retirement and Health Center in Zelienople.

She was born March 23, 1926, in Wexford and was the daughter of Peter John Altmeyer and Josephine Sorgel Altmeyer.

She was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church in Wexford.

She had owned Hartman Catering in Cranberry Township.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Kenny (Debbie) Kniess of Portersville; a son Gary Hartman of Prospect; a foster son, Gregory Slagle of New York; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Hartman, who she married Sept. 9, 1948. He died May 7, 1981. A sister and a stepbrother also preceded her in death.

<B>HARTMAN</B> — There will be no visitation. A memorial service for Margaret S. Hartman, who died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Salem United Methodist Church in Wexford with the Rev. Joseph Patterson officiating. Burial will be in the Allegheny Memorial Cemetery in Pittsburgh.Arrangements are by the <B>Jay Bryan Funeral Home </B>in Prospect.
