James 'Wally' Eaton
James W. "Wally" Eaton, 95, a three-year resident of Grove Manor in Grove City, formerly of West Prairie Street, Harrisville, died at 3 p.m. Thursday at Grove Manor.
Born in Harrisville, April 14, 1914, he was the son of Frank L. Eaton and Ina E. (Surrena) Eaton.
He had worked in the erection floor of the former Cooper-Bessemer in Grove City, retiring in 1977 after 39 years.
Mr. Eaton was a member of the West Unity Community Church in Marion Township and a former member of the Harrisville United Methodist Church.
He was a former member of the Harrisville Deer Hunters Association. He was an avid hunter, gardener and baseball fan.
Surviving are a daughter, Lois A. Miller and her husband, Donald F., of Harrisville; two sons, John W. Eaton and his wife, Jodi, of Hamilton, N.J., and James M. Eaton and his wife, Maureen, of Erie; stepchildren, Marjorie Hines and her husband, Russell, of Cochranton, Nancy Craig and her husband, Herb, of Sligo and K. James Wilson and his wife, Wendy, of Ohio; 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren; and a sister, Imogene Wallwork of Grove City.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Norma M. (Ghrist) Eaton, who he married in October 1939 and who died in February 1955; his second wife, Orpha B. (Lumley) Wilson Eaton, who he married in February 1961 and who died in May 2007; three grandchildren; a step-grandchild; five sisters, and five brothers.
<B>EATON </B>— Friends of James W. "Wally" Eaton, who died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Jamison Funeral Home</B>, 117 N. Main St., Harrisville. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the West Unity Community Church with Pastor Boyd D. Smith, church pastor, officiating.
