Kenneth L. Gilliland, 76, of Jersey Shore, Pa., passed away Thursday at Jersey Shore Hospital, Jersey Shore.

He was born in Butler on Nov. 25, 1933, son of the late Carl N. and Mildred C. Gilliland.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of American Legion Post 36 in Jersey Shore.

He was an over-the-road truck driver for over 54 years.

He attended the St. John United Church of Christ in Tylersville, Pa. He enjoyed hunting, camping, and NASCAR and dirt track racing.

Kenneth is survived by his wife of 23 years, June E. Gilliland of Jersey Shore, whom he married Feb. 14, 1986; three daughters, Constance (Wells) Cantgbe of Albuquerque, N.M., Cheryl (Daniel) Mager of Portersville and Cathy (Michael) Uniatowski of Butler; a stepson, Franklin (Shirley) Ilgen of Loganton, Pa.; four stepdaughters, Donna (Boyd) Askey of Snow Shoe, Pa., Kirsten (Ron) Neese of Mill Hall, Pa., Darlene (Wayne) Peeling of Loganton, Pa., and Karen Ilgen of Pleasant Gap, Pa.; a sister, Mrs. Elsie (Edward) Kooser of Pittsburgh; three brothers, Carl (Marilyn) Gilliland of Canton, Ohio, Lewis (Rose) Gilliland of Butler, and Donald (Sandy) Gilliland of Fort Myers, Fla.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; and 17 step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son; a daughter, Cynthia Gilliland; a brother Gilmore Gilliland; a great-grandson, Brady Steighner; and a step- grandson, Frankie Ilgen.
