Rose V. Lindemann, 89, of Monaca passed away Thursday evening at Friendship Ridge, Beaver.

Rose was born Feb 23, 1920, a daughter of the late Daniel and Mary W. (Gassman) Lindemann at the family homestead in Monaca, where she lived her entire life.

After graduating from high school, she worked for the Boys Scouts of America in Pittsburgh and then went to work as a secretary for American Hardware, which became ServiStar and later True Value Hardware. She retired from the company's regional central warehouse in Butler as a private secretary after 41 years.

Rose then volunteered at the Medical Center in Beaver until she was in her early 80s.

A Pittsburgh Pirates baseball fan, Rose was in the stands the day Roberto Clemente made his 3,000th hit.

She was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, Monaca, and she was a former member of the church choir and a former Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of the church's former Luther League.

One of 10 children, she leaves a brother, Luther B. Lindemann, and a sister, Mary H. Lindemann, both of Brighton Township; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven siblings, George W., Daniel S., Henry E., Fredrick R., Carl J., Augusta K. and Dorothy W. Lindemann.

Lindemann, who died Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services</B>, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca, where services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday. In the absence of her current pastor, her former pastor, the Rev. Janice Altenburger, will officiate.
