Kenneth O. Anderson
Kenneth O. Anderson, 88, of Saxonburg died Thursday at the Fair Winds Manor nursing home, Sarver.
Son of the late Thomas J. and Margaret E. (Brodmerkel) Anderson, he was born May 2, 1921, in Plum Borough.
He was married to the late Georgia (Staff) Anderson, who died Nov. 29, 2006, for more than 63 years.
Kenneth was a well-known, self-employed custom home builder for more than 25 years before retiring in 1981.
He was a member of the Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church, having served as an elder and on the cemetery committee. He also served the community for numerous years as a member of the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Department.
In retirement, Kenneth enjoyed traveling in their motor home and being involved in the Good Sam RV Club. He also was an avid gardener. He loved to do anything with woodworking projects. Due to his arthritis, Ken built adaptive equipment to help him to function optimally.
Surviving are two children, Dr. Connie S. Anderson of Sarver and Jeffrey A. Anderson and his wife, Susan, of Hanover, Pa.; and one granddaughter, Lacey M. Anderson, also of Hanover. He also is survived by his sister, Marion Mihalcik of Indiana, Pa.; and his brother, Edward S. Anderson of Frederick, Md.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Thomas J. Anderson; and a sister, Alice Anderson Montag.
