Russell E. Daviess

Russell Edward Daviess, 56, of Saxonburg died Monday at the Alle-Kiski Medical Center after a two-year battle with cancer.

Born March 21, 1953, in Glenshaw, he was the son of William H. Daviess Jr. and Lois M. Katzenmeyer.

He graduated from Ashland College, Ohio, with a bachelor of science degree in health and physical education and then earned a degree in physical therapy from the University of Pennsylvania. He practiced physical therapy for 31 years, owning his own practice for the past nine years.

He was an avid golfer. He loved camping, fishing, bowling, painting and drawing and spending time with his family.

Surviving are his wife, Maureen (McCurdy) Daviess, who he married March 27, 1981; his parents, William and Lois Daviess of Glenshaw; his daughters, Christina M. (Devin) Spreng of Valencia and Jamie L. Daviess of Renfrew; his brother, Donald (Marilyn) Daviess of Avon Lake, Ohio; his sister, Marlene (Robert) Stephenson of Gilbert, Minn.; and three grandchildren, Greggory, Tyler and Luke Spreng.

<B>DAVIESS</B> — Friends of Russell Edward Daviess, who died Monday, Dec. 21, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg, where funeral services will follow at 7:30 p.m. with the Rev. Deborah Huffmyer officiating.
