Goehring

Genowefa "Genevieve" Goehring, 87, of Renfrew, formerly of Evans City, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday evening at Good Samaritan Hospice of Concordia, Cabot.

Born Jan. 1, 1922, in Lodz, Poland, she was the daughter of the late Wojciech and Antonia Ostaszewski Daszkiewicz.

Mrs. Goehring was a member of the First Baptist Church in Evans City.

During World War II at the age of 18, she was taken by force from her family and homeland to work in a German factory for five years. After liberation by the Americans, she met and married James Goehring.

She is survived by her husband, James H. Goehring, who she married April 2, 1946; three daughters, Wanda (Wayne) Hixon of Penn Township, Sandra Eisenhuth of Warren, Ohio, and Barbara (James) Engemann of Newaygo, Mich.; two sons, Garry Goehring of Butler and India, and Jerry (Susan) Goehring of Penn Township; a sister-in-law and care giver, Eileen Bernd of Zelienople; 13 grandchildren, James, Andrew and Ann Hixon, Joseph and David Eisenhuth, Julie O'Malley, Jodi, Joshua and Michael Tyron, Jami Hanson, Heidi Yoder, and Matthew and Chad Goehring; 21 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by a brother and a grandson, Jeffrey Hixon.

<B>GOEHRING</B> — Friends and relatives of Genowefa Goehring, who died Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the<B> A. Carl Kinsey-Ronald N. Volz Funeral Home</B>, 328 W. Main St., Evans City. Additional visitation will be from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church. Funeral services will be there at 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Jeff Mackay, her pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Brownsdale Cemetery, Renfrew.Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church, 242 S.
