Edward S. Sherrick
Edward S. Sherrick, 85, of Butler died at 2 p.m. Thursday at his home.
Born May 26, 1924, in Scottdale, Pa., he was the son of the late Jacob Lighty Sherrick and Emma Hindman Bryar Sherrick.
Ed was a member of the Christ Community United Methodist Church.
He was a graduate of Baldwin Wallace and Carnegie Tech with a bachelor's in mechanical engineering.
He retired in 1980 as a general foreman of the coil warehouse at Armco Steel.
He enjoyed hunting and reloading gun shells.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II.
Surviving are a daughter, Elizabeth "Beth" Cook of Bartlesville, Okla.; a son, James Campbell Sherrick and his wife, Debbie; two grandsons, Jacob and his wife, Amiee, Sherrick of Bridge City, Texas, and Joseph and his wife, Sara, Sherrick of Chantilly, Va.; a great-grandson, Thomas Sherrick of Chantilly, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothea "Dottie" L. Campbell Sherrick, who he married June 15, 1949, and who died June 9, 2003; three sisters, and a brother.
<B>SHERRICK</B> — Friends of Edward S. Sherrick, who died Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, Butler.
