Merle Ray McFadden

Merle Ray McFadden, 81, of Butler died suddenly Monday at the Butler County Dialysis Center.

Born Oct. 18, 1928, in Harrisville, he was the son of the late Leona McFadden.

Merle was a veteran of the Army, having served in the Korean War.

He was a member of the Homeacre Chapel and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.

He retired from the Postal Service as a postal carrier after 30 years.

He enjoyed hunting and gardening.

Surviving are a son, Kenneth W. McFadden of Butler; a daughter, Mrs. David (Patricia) Ling of Hebron, N.D.; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two half-sisters, Mrs. William (Eldine) Reddinger of Grove City and Virginia Kober of Coal Town; and two half-brothers, Edwin Campbell of Eau Claire and Keith Campbell of Texas.

He was preceded in death by his mother; his wife, Orlea M. McFadden, who died Sept. 11, 1997; and a half-brother.

<B>MCFADDEN</B> — Friends of Merle Ray McFadden, who died Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St.Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with his pastor, the Rev. David Fisher, officiating.
