Young

William J. Young Jr., 90, of Chicora died at 6:52 a.m. Saturday in the Meadow Lake Manor Personal Care Home of Sugar Creek Rest, R.D. 1, Worthington.

He was born in Fairview Township, Butler County, Oct. 19, 1919, the son of the late William J. Young Sr. and the late Marcella Stein Young.

He worked for more than 40 years at Penreco, Karns City, retiring in 1981.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving his country from Oct. 9, 1942, to Dec. 15, 1945.

He was a member of the Mater Delorsa Roman Catholic Church, Chicora, the AARP, the Chicora Senior Center, the Chicora American Legion, the Chicora VFW, and the Penreco golf and bowling leagues.

He enjoyed playing cards, 500 bid and euchre, and gardening.

He is survived by a daughter, Jean Farone and her husband, John, of Chicora; two sons, William V. Young and his fiance, Patty Collins, of Chicora and Robert L. Young and his wife, Geralyn, of Butler; five grandchildren, Jason Farone, Anthony Farone and his wife, Rhonda, Shannon Burton and her husband, Keith, Taylor Young, and Stephanie Equihua and her husband, Geronimo; four great-grandchildren, Dakoda Farone, Rocco Farone, Joaquin Equihua and Maria Equihua; four brothers, Robert Young and his wife, Gloria, of New York; John Young and his wife, Rita, of Butler; Norman Young and his wife, Madge, of Hilliards, and Regis Young of Butler; seven sisters, Betty Fallecker and her husband, Cletus, of Butler, Mary Ferguson of Butler, Pauline Graham and her husband, John, of Butler, Eleanor Clouse and her husband, John, of Butler, Virginia Korieth and her husband, Bert, of Butler, Cleo Tritch of Butler, and Janie Beltrami and her husband, Richard, of Butler.

He married Margaret E. Clouse Young on May 4, 1946, and she died June 7, 1995.

He also is preceded in death by a sister, Eileen Curtis, and three brothers, Chuck, Paul and Dick Young.

Slippery Rock St. and Main Street in Chicora.A Mass Of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church, 409 N. Main St., Chicora, with the Rev. William Ritzert officiating.
