Ellen M. Waltman
Ellen M. Waltman, 78, of Chicora died at 4:55 p.m. Friday at her home following an illness.
She was born in Chicora, Jan. 25, 1931, the daughter of the late S.A. Waltman and the late Esther Geibel Waltman.
She owned and operated Ellen's Five and Dime Store in Chicora for several years.
She was a member of the Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church and the Altar Society of the church. She taught the First Communion Class at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in North Oakland for nearly 50 years. She was very instrumental in coordinating and erecting the Christmas lights on the main and surrounding streets in Chicora as well as having American flags placed along Main Street in Chicora for Memorial Day and for all summer.
She also enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends.
She is survived by two sisters, Sr. Constance Marie Waltman C.D.P. of Providence Heights, Allison Park, and Frances Waltman of Chicora, with whom she made her home; a brother, Bernard Waltman of Chicora. She was the wonderful loving aunt to several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Dolores E. Phillips.

Joseph Pudichery, pastor, officiating. It will be co-celebrated by the Revs. David DeWitt and Steven Neff.
