John Albert Selfridge

John Albert Selfridge, 59, of Chicora, passed away Tuesday at 1:33 a.m. at VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System in Oakland following an illness of several months.

Born in Butler on Sept. 8, 1950, he was the son of Helen Johnson Selfridge of Butler and the late Albert Clark Selfridge.

He was a Protestant.

Mr. Selfridge was employed by Pizza Hut of Butler for more than 20 years.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1970 to 1976, discharged as an SP/4, with most of his two-year assignment in Europe.

Surviving are his wife, Kathy Staiger Selfridge; two daughters, Kourtney and Raven Selfridge, both at home; his mother of Butler; four sisters, Linda Eddinger, Harriet Claypoole, and Bonnie Claypool, all of Butler, and Pat Hilliard of Petrolia; a brother, Albert Clark Selfridge of Butler; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ron Selfridge, and a brother-in-law, Len Hilliard.

<B>SELFRIDGE — </B>Friends of John Albert Selfridge, who died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009, may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the <B>H. JACK BUZARD FUNERAL HOME</B>, Main St./Route 38, Eau Claire. Funeral service will be at 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Members of the Butler County American Legion Riders will participate in the service.
