Charles R. Albert
Charles R. Albert, 63, of Burlington, N.C., formerly of Prospect, died Nov. 24 at his home of natural causes.
Born Oct. 22, 1946, he was the son of the late Galen Albert Sr. and June Boring Albert.
He was a veteran of the Navy, having served in the Vietnam War.
He was a retired truck driver from Q-Carriers, where he won truck driver of the year and was twice runner-up. He also retired as an independent truck driver.
He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Greer, S.C.
He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and a Civil War buff.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Turner Albert, who he married Dec. 23, 1992; a son, Charles R. Albert II of Chicora; four daughters, Pam Marshal and Denise Dew, both of Butler, Chasarae Albert and Jacquelyn Albert, both of Louisville, K.Y.; three step-grandchildren who he was raising, Stephen, Macey and Josh; a stepson, Terry McElhannon Jr. of Greer, S.C.; and a stepdaughter, Theresa Ray of Kings Mountain, N.C. He is also survived by a brother, Galen Albert II of Prospect; two sisters, Diane Miller of Karns City and Susan Penna of Emlenton; and eight grandchildren.
