Ann S. Kononchuk, 90, of Butler died Thursday afternoon at the Evergreen Nursing Center, Zelienople.

Born July 20, 1919, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late George and Suzanna (Siranko) Skunda.

She was a member of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian, was a homemaker and mother, and also had worked at the Woolworth Department Store in Butler.

Ann was a volunteer at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for many years, and had loved to travel, especially taking bus trips.

Surviving are her husband, Frank J. Kononchuk, who she married Nov. 8, 1943; a son, Frank S. Kononchuk and his wife, Charmiann, of Rochester; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter; two sisters; and five brothers.

<B>Kononchuk</B> — Friends of Ann S. Kononchuk, who died Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Meridian.Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.
