Donald E. Curry
Donald E. Curry, 82, of Butler died early Wednesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Jan. 8, 1928, in Butler, he was a son of the late Howard J. and Ruth (Bruner) Curry.
He was a graduate of Butler High School and was the treasurer for the National Underground Storage Co. in Boyers for 31 years, retiring in 1990.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Butler, the former International Order of Odd Fellows on the South Side and the National Associations of Accountants.
Donald was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, enjoyed golfing, traveling, spending time with his family and grandchildren and was a Civil War enthusiast, as he had attended several reenactments.
A veteran of World War II, he served with the U.S. Army.
Surviving are his wife, Allene L. (Lepore) Curry, who he married July 3, 1948; three sons, Robert E. Curry and his wife, Karen L., of Cranberry Township, Jeffrey E. Curry and his wife, Tammy L,. of North Lima, Ohio, and Michael H. Curry of Schenectady, N.Y.; eight grandchildren, Scott R. Curry, Christopher S. Curry, David J. Cooley, Shannon T. Curry, Turner E. Curry, Mitchell C. Curry, Justin M. Curry and Madison T. Curry; a great-grandson, Justin A. Curry; a brother, Charles Curry of Butler; and a sister, Elinor Hinchberger of Butler.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Marion Curry; and two brothers, William and Richard Curry.
<B>Curry </B>— Friends of Donald E. Curry, who died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010, will be received at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Funeral services will be Friday at noon at the funeral home. The Rev. David Panther, pastor, will officiate.
