Verner R. Kustes
Verner R. Kustes, 93, of the St. Barnabas Free Home, Richland Township, formerly of Brookline, died Friday.
Born in Pittsburgh, March 9, 1916, he was the son of the late Charles F. and Ernestine (Fischer) Kustes.
He was the beloved brother of Evelyn Burroughs and the late Audrey Waite and Venetta Ross; and the loving uncle of Betty Walck, Beverly Mitchell, Norman Ross, Joanne Schade and James Burroughs. Also surviving are many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Verner was a 40-year resident of the St. Barnabas Free Home.
He was a longtime and devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown, where he was an honorary deacon and was active with the Sunday school.
<B>KUSTES </B>— Friends of Verner R. Kustes, who died Friday, Nov. 27, 2009, are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the <B>Schellhaas Funeral Home</B>, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown with the Rev. Daniel Muttart officiating.
