Moody Sr.

Charles E. Moody Sr., 79, of Butler died Saturday at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia.

He was born in Pittsburgh, June 17, 1930, a son of the late Robert W. and Frankie Pearl Christie Moody, and he been raised in the Mars area.

A retired electrician, he had worked at the Butler plant of the Armco Steel for more than 30 years.

A veteran of the Korean War, he had served in the Army.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Valjean Wiest Moody. They were married June 15, 1953, and she died Oct. 21, 1997. He also was preceded in death by a brother, Robert; and a sister Doris.

Surviving are two sons, Charles E. (Marcia) Moody Jr. of Butler and Lawrence D. (Sharon) Moody of Florida; a daughter, Susan Williams of Rochester, N.H.; four grandchildren, Lindsay and Ashley Williams and Megan and Chuck Moody; a great-grandson, Riley; a brother, Monte Moody of Mars; and a sister, Ann Farringer of Coraopolis.

<B>MOODY </B>— Friends of Charles E. Moody Sr., who died Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Ralph Cotton, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Sharpsville, will officiate. Interment will be at the Butler County Memorial Park Cemetery.The family requests that, if desired, memorial donations could be sent to the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia, 134 Marwood Road, Cabot, PA 16023.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
