Bertha D. Sigut Coyer, 86, of Slippery Rock died at 8:28 a.m. Monday at Orchard Manor, Pine Township, Mercer County.

Born Sept. 8, 1923, in Herminie, Westmoreland County, she was the daughter of Henry Sigut and Verona Sigut.

She married Clyde Esten Coyer in 1944, and he died in 1980.

She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Grove City.

She retired from the Slippery Rock School District.

She loved gardening, working with flowers, canning, cooking and traveling.

Surviving are a son, Ronald W. (Becky) Coyer of Slippery Rock, and three daughters, Barbara L. Gravatt of Volant/Plain Grove, Cheryl L. (Robert) Sanford of The Woodlands, Texas, and Betty J. Bartoll of Spring, Texas. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Carl J. (BobbiJo) Gravatt, Rachel L., Megan J. and Thomas R. Coyer, and Jessica L. and Christopher J. Sanford; and two great-grandchildren, Addalinn and Austin Gravatt.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Kenneth; two brothers, Walter and John Sigut; and two sisters, Henrietta Eyth and Ann "Annie" Crawford,

<B>COYER</B> — Visitation for Bertha D. Sigut Coyer, who died Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday at the <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor David Barnhouse of the Slippery Rock Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be at the Woodland Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
