HAMPTON TWP, Allegheny County — The annual Celebration of Lights on display now at Hartwood Acres, 215 Saxonburg Blvd., continues through Jan. 3.

The 3.5-mile stretch of holiday lights now in its 18th year benefits the Salvation Army and other Allegheny County charities.

A $12 donation per carload is requested, or $5 per person for for-profit buses and $3 per person for nonprofit buses and RVs.

Event hours are 6 to 10 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays, and 6 to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. On Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, event hours are from 6 to 10 p.m. More information is available at Web site at www.riteaid.com.

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Public Theater starts 2010 with two completely different plays, both directed by Ted Pappas.Running Jan. 6 to 10 will be the farewell production of "The Chief." This one-man show celebrating Steelers founder Art Rooney Sr. was created at The Public in 2003.
