Frank G. Owens
Frank G. Owens, 88, of Mars died Monday afternoon at LAS/St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars.
Born in Johnstown, March 16, 1921, he was the son of the late John and Mary Ryan Owens.
Frank had been an engineer for Westinghouse, and he was an Army veteran of World War II.
He was a member of St. Kilian Roman Catholic Church in Mars.
Surviving are three daughters, Mary Sandra Fairman (Earl) of Clairton, Barbara Yzquierdo of Freedom and Arlene Paterra (Richard) of Weirton, W.Va.; five sons, Martin Owens (Hilda) of Indianapolis, Ind., Larry Owens of Avonmore, Michael Owens of Mars, Steven Owens (Tammy) of Branchton and Gary Owens (Leslie) of Renfrew; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; his sister, Louise Kurtz; and his brothers, Robert and Thomas Owens.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Hall Owens, who he married July 22, 1945, and who died May 14, 2007.
<B>OWENS</B> — Friends of Frank G. Owens, who died Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at <B>McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, </B>238 Crowe Ave., Mars. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Kilian Church, 205 Clark St., Mars, with the Rev. Charles Bober, pastor, officiating.
