Artists are being sought for the "Cold Winter, Hot Jazz" exhibit to be featured Jan. 27 to Feb. 19 at The Art Center, 344 S. Main St.

This juried exhibit with more than $1,000 in cash awards has a wide-open theme: anything to do with music, although the goal is for some artists to draw inspiration from the jazz era of the 1920s and 1930s.

Accepted artists will receive a free ticket to the Preview Opening/Meet the Artists Night planned for 7 to 11 p.m. Jan. 23, featuring "Mr. Trombone" Harold Betters as well as a local jazz ensemble and a cash wine bar.

Admission for nonartists and guests to the preview will be $20.

The exhibit will open to the public on Jan. 27 during the normal hours of noon to 6 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, noon to 9 p.m. Fridays, and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays. Regular admission is free.
