Jean M. Young, 72, of Greenery Lane in Butler died Thursday at Sugarcreek Rest.

She was born Dec. 23, 1936, in Jefferson Township, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Mabel Doerr Wissinger.

Jean was a homemaker, mother and grandmother, and she had formerly worked as a receptionist and assistant for Dr. Cleeland and Dr. Link for 12 years.

She enjoyed the outdoors and golfing, and she was a former member of the Thursday night ladies league at Hiland Golf Course.

Her husband, Charles W. "Chuck" Young, who she married Feb. 26, 1992, survives her.

Also surviving are her children, David Todd of Butler, Randy Todd of Punxsutawney and Renee Schmucker of Chattanooga, Tenn.; six grandchildren, Clarissa, Madeline, Aiden and Shaun Todd, Jody Erdos and Krissy Fisher; four great-grandchildren, Cody Lutz, Brandon Wright, Devin Hayward and Micah Fisher; three brothers, Herm Wissinger of Sarver, Roger Wissinger of Cabot and Buckie Wissinger of Brookville; two sisters, Mrs. John (Blanche) Rome and Betty Weiland, both of Butler; three stepchildren, Mark J. Young of Mount Lebanon, Kelly D. Chapman of Butler and Jacquelyn P. Gray of Butler; three stepgrandchildren, Evan and Conner Gray and Mariah Schmucker; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Two sisters preceded her in death.

<B>YOUNG</B> — There will be no visitation for Jean M. Young, who died Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009. Private services were held at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
