John S. "Jack" Tinnerman, 86, of Butler, passed away Friday at Orchard Manor in Grove City.

He was born Jan. 28, 1923, in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Steven Tinnerman and the late Alverta (Forsythe) Tinnerman.

He had been a stencil cutter at Pullman Standard. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II and former member of VFW Post 249.

He enjoyed music, dancing, bowling and playing cards, and was a cartoonist.

Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. Daniel (Diane) Clark of Butler; his son, Dr. Larry S. Tinnerman of Terre Haute, Ind.; his granddaughter, Mrs. Brien (Karen) Huffman; and two great-grandchildren, Ashley and Brayden Huffman.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary H. (Shaffer) Tinnerman, who died March 15, 1988.
