Man charged in shooting death of police officer
PENN HILLS — Police said they charged a Pittsburgh man today with killing a suburban Pittsburgh police officer and another man after the man came to talk with them about the shooting.
Police said Michael Crawshaw, 32, a Penn Hills officer, was shot in his car Sunday night as he waited for backup near a house where gunfire was reported.
Allegheny County Police Superintendent Charles Moffatt said Crawshaw was shot once in the head and two or three times in the upper arm.
Moffatt said Ronald Robinson, 31, of Pittsburgh shot Crawshaw after leaving a house where he shot and killed Danyal Morton, 40, over a $500 drug debt.
Moffatt said Robinson came in for questioning about 4 a.m. today and was later charged with two counts of homicide and burglary.
