Wilson III

Marine Corps Reserve Lance Cpl.

Thomas Wilson III, son of Thomas F. Wilson Jr. of Mars recently spent a couple weeks in Kitgum, Uganda, supporting a military exercise that focused on humanitarian assistance to local Ugandans, along with cooperation between American troops and five area countries.Wilson, a military policeman with Military Police Company B in North Versailles, helped with some humanitarian missions and provided security at medical sites in the area.He has been in the military for about two years.———

Army Reserve Staff Sgt. <B>Andrew Haggard </B>returned to the United States after being deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.Sergeant Haggard was activated and deployed to serve 20 months in Tikrit rebuilding the health care system of Salah ad Din Province.While in Iraq, he was promoted to his current rank and was decorated with two Meritorious Service Medals for distinctive service performance and achievement. Additionally, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Iraqi Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Armed Forces Reserve Medal.He is a civil affairs sergeant and a member of Alpha Co. 407th Civil Affairs Battalion, New Brighton, Minn. The reservist has served in the military for 13 years.Haggard is the son of Kathy R. Haggard of Butler and graduated in 1988 from Robbinsdale Cooper High School, New Hope, Minn.
