Joan G. DeMarsh
Joan G. DeMarsh, 65, of 4229 William Flynn Highway, Harrisville, Mercer Township, died at 9:25 a.m. Tuesday at the Grove Manor nursing home, Grove City, after an extended illness.
Born in New Castle, May 13, 1944, she was the daughter of Lloyd Davis and Effina Richards Davis.
She married Paul C. DeMarsh on June 27, 1964.
She was a homemaker and a graduate of the New Wilmington High School, Class of 1962.
Mrs. DeMarsh was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church, Forestville. She was a former member of the St. Anthony Christian Mothers.
Joan was an avid swimmer, dancer and enjoyed walking. She loved her family, friends and spending time with her dogs. Formerly, she was involved with the parents association at the former Lab School for children at Slippery Rock University.
Surviving are her husband, Paul C. at home; two sons, Paul E. and Matthew D., both of Harrisville; three sisters, Dixie Neff of Zelienople, Barbara Smith and her husband, Glenn, of New Wilmington, and Virginia Williams and her husband, Philip, of Hillsboro, Ore.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
<B>DeMARSH</B> — Visitation for Joan G. DeMarsh, who died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Cunningham Funeral Home</B>, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Anthony Catholic Church, Forestville, with the Rev. Father Kevin G. Poecking as celebrant. Burial will be at the St. Anthony Cemetery, Harrisville.Memorial contributions may be made to the Allegheny Valley Schools, Slippery Rock Program Center, 125 Rebecca Lane, Slippery Rock, PA 16057.
