Dorothy Grace "Spooky" Boofer, 57, of Washington Street, Petrolia (Fairview borough), passed away at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the ACMH Hospital following a period of failing health.

She was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio, on Aug. 11, 1952, and was a daughter of Mrs. Olive Gibson Callen of Barberton, Ohio, and the late Rev. Lloyd T. Callen, who passed away in December 2002.

She was a Baptist and had attended Butler Beauty School.

She is survived by her mother; one son, Michael D. Boofer of Petrolia; Brian Lieberum of Boyers, who she helped raise; three grandchildren, Megan Mansberger, Alexandria Mansberger and Anthony Mansberger, all of Petrolia; six brothers, Harvey Callen and his wife, Martha, of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, John Callen of Cookeville, Tenn., Louis Callen and his wife, Diane, of Massillon, Ohio, William Callen and his wife, Caroline, of Midwest City, Okla., Larry Callen of Dover, Ohio, and Daniel Callen of New Philadelphia, Ohio; four sisters, Mrs. Edna McNellis and her husband, Thomas, of Barberton, Ohio, Mrs. Beatrice Thompson of Oklahoma City, Okla., Darlene Jones and her husband, John, of Cape Coral, Fla. and Ruth Kovacs and her husband, Jon, of Bossier City, La.; a close niece, April Geni Fertig of New Castle; and a number of nieces and nephews.

<B>Boofer</B> — Friends of Dorothy Grace "Spooky" Boofer, who died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, will be received from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the <B>Richard D. Hillis Funeral Home</B> in Petrolia. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Martin, pastor of the Valencia United Methodist Church, and the Rev. Wade Berkey, pastor of the Bruin United Methodist Church, officiating.
