Seubert & Associates raised more than $42,000 Nov. 7 in net proceeds to benefit Lifesteps Family Caring Fund at the third annual Star Gala.The fund supports programs and services offered by Lifesteps such as developmental Child Check screenings for children birth to age five, Early Education Centers for children with and without special needs, Family Services and a medically monitored day program for aging adults.Last year, Lifesteps provided direct services to 8,800 individuals and provided outreach to more than 12,500 in its 10-county service area.The fourth annual Star Gala is set for Nov. 13, 2010, at the Atrium in Prospect.For information, visit www.lifesteps.net or call 800-225-2010.————-
Kelsey Ferrick of Cranberry Township competed for the title of Miss Pennsylvania Nov. 27 to 29 at the Hyatt Regency Pittsburgh International Airport.Ferrick is a 2009 graduate of Seneca Valley High School and is a freshman at Butler County Community College, where she is studying physical therapy. She is the daughter of Joe and Debbie Ferrick of Cranberry Township.————-
Community Care Connections recognized <B>Janice Swope </B>as Volunteer of the Year.Swope was honored for organizing and leading a Bible study program for adults with special needs for the past 12 years. During that time, the group has studied six complete books of the Bible, as well as the life of Jesus, parables, miracles, and held a special study on prayer. Swope is also on the board of directors.————-<BR><BR><BR><BR><BR><BR>
<B>Carol Schultz</B> received the Patty L. McCool Advocate of the Year Award. This award is given annually to a person who demonstrates concern for the health and welfare of those with disabilities. She organized The Caring Tree program, in which participants are able to receive gifts donated by staff and others.
