Geraldine C. MacKrell, 88, of Chicora died unexpectedly at 5 p.m. Friday in Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born in East Butler, Feb. 13, 1921, she was the daughter of the late George N. Eyth and the late Martha M. Weiland Eyth.

She attended the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, North Oakland, and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Chicora Volunteer Fire Department.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Carl (Cynthia) Wilson of Chicora and Mrs. John (Kathy) Rodgers of Chicora; two sons, Larry MacKrell of Chicora and Robert MacKrell of Chicora; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; four brothers, George Eyth of Butler, Victor Eyth of Mentor, Ohio, Raymond Eyth of Chicora and Norbert Eyth of Fenelton; and three sisters, Mildred Benson of Chicora, Janet Oesterling of Slippery Rock and Mrs. Thomas (Victoria) Painter of Slippery Rock.

She was preceded in death by a son, Richard MacKrell; a daughter, JoAnne Hicks; two grandsons, Kevin Lee MacKrell and Neal Daniel Rodgers; and two brothers, Charles and Harold Eyth.

<B>MACKRELL</B> — There will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian burial for Geraldine C. MacKrell, who died Friday, Oct. 23, 2009, was at 11 a.m. today at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, North Oakland, with her cousin the Rev. William Ritzert officiating.
