Charlotte Anna Fennell, 89, of Prospect died early Friday morning at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Aug. 17, 1920, in Butler and was the daughter of Adam C. and Minnie S. Kradel Ferne.

She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Prospect.

She was one of the first crossing guards for the Butler School District. She worked on the Prospect Election Board and delivered meals for Connoquenessing Meals on Wheels in the Prospect area.

She belonged to the American Legion Post 778 Auxiliary of Lyndora, the CB Rangers of Butler, the Mt. Chestnut Senior Center, AARP and the Prospect Senior Group.

She is survived by one daughter, Pat Dietrich of Prospect; one son, Ronald Fennell of Margate, Fla.; one niece, whom she raised, Norma Jean Geibel of Butler; two grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard E. Fennell, who died April 25, 2003; two grandchildren; two great-grandsons; three sisters, and three brothers.

<B>Fennell</B> — A memorial service for Charlotte Anna Fennell, who died Friday, Oct. 23, 2009, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Prospect, with the Rev.
