Brenda L. Albaugh, 59, of Freeport passed away at 7:10 p.m. Tuesday at Allegheny Valley Hospital while in the company of family members.

Brenda was born in Freeport, March 24, 1950, the daughter of the late John E. and Ivy June (Metzler) Howard.

She was a member of Freeport United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. Brenda was a past member of the Freeport EMTs and the Freeport Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

She enjoyed bowling, shopping, gambling and being with her grandchildren.

She had worked in the nursing field for more than 20 years. Her last position was as a licensed practical nurse at Medi Home Hospice in Leechburg.

Brenda is survived by her husband of 41 years, Jerry L. Albaugh; her son Jared (Hope) Albaugh of Freeport; her two grandchildren, Jennifer and John Albaugh; and three brothers, George E. (Helen) Howard of Scranton, Ark., Dennis F. (Karen) Howard of North Port, Fla., and Terry R. (Kathy) Howard of Natrona Heights. She also is survived by her lifelong friend, Liz (Ed) Myers of Kittanning.

She was preceded in death by her infant brother, James Howard.

<B>ALBAUGH</B> — Family and friends of Brenda L. Albaugh, who died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, are being received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the <B>Redmond Funeral Home</B>, 254 High St. Freeport. At the wishes of Mrs. Albaugh, there will be a private family funeral service Saturday at Freeport United Methodist Church.
