George D. Reeder

George D. "Geordie" Reeder, 88, of Slippery Rock passed away at 9:45 a.m. Monday at the Butler Memorial Hospital following an illness.

He was born Feb. 16, 1921, in Claytonia. He was the son of the late Joseph Reeder and Emma Sherwin Reeder.

He retired from International Staple in Butler as a tool and die maker.

He was a Nazarene by faith and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.

He is survived by his wife, Thelma Parisi Reeder, who he married Nov. 15, 1944. Also surviving are a son, Richard Reeder and his wife, Irena, of Butler; a son-in-law, Jack Crocker of Ohio; three grandsons, Nathan Crocker, Gregory Reeder, and James and Jenna Reeder; and his sister, Aida Sankey of Branchton.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon K. Crocker, who passed away Oct. 15, 2007; two sisters; and five brothers.

<B>REEDER</B> — Friends of George D. "Geordie" Reeder, who died Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>William F. Young Funeral Home</B>, 132 Main St., West Sunbury. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Tim Britton of the United Church of the Nazarene officiating. Burial will be in the West Sunbury Union Cemetery.
