Alverda D. Sill Thomas

Alverda D. Sill Thomas, 74, of Evans City passed away Sunday morning in UPMC Passavant, McCandless Township.

Born in Pittsburgh, Dec. 25, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Margaret Zabish Sill.

She was of the Protestant faith.

Mrs. Thomas had worked as a bus driver for Sherwood Oaks, Cranberry Township. She retired from the Colonial Gardens Personal Care Home, Penn Township, where she worked in the housekeeping department.

She was an avid Steelers fan.

She was preceded in death by a son, a sister, a brother and her ex-husband, Virgil Bears in 1985.

Surviving are her husband, Leonard S. Thomas Sr., who she married July 29, 1980; two daughters, Nancy J. Herzog of Butler and Margaret Bears of Evans City; five sons, Norman Largent Jr. of Ford City, Donald, Gary and Edwin Largent, all of Pittsburgh, and Jeffrey Bears of Butler; a stepson, Leonard S. Thomas Jr. of Butler; her stepmother, Evelyn Sill of Avonmore; a sister, Janet Bufalini of Avonmore; 15 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
