Mary L. Gromling
Mary L. Gromling, 80, of Twin Oaks Nursing Center, Palmyra, Lebanon County, passed away Wednesday.
Her first husband, Harold D. Siegrist, died in 1971, and her second husband, Joseph E. Gromling, died in 2005.
Formerly of Rolling Hills Estates, Columbia and Silver Spring, Mary retired from St. Anne's Retirement Community in 1991.
Previously, she worked for the former Donegal Industries of Mount Joy and the Lucas Sewing Factory, Columbia, Lancaster County.
Mary was a member of Ironville United Methodist Church and a 1947 graduate of the former Concord High School in Butler County.
She enjoyed camping, cooking and the Lawrence Welk show. Mary especially loved visiting with her children and grandchildren.
Born in North Washington, she was the daughter of the late Ralph J. and Edna Smith Blair.
Mary will be deeply missed by her three daughters, Joyce (Samuel) Carroll of Palmyra, Nancy (Tony) Frey of Manheim and Shirley (J. Marvin) Herr of Holtwood; two stepdaughters, Lori Ann (Kenneth) Smith of Columbia and Joella (Jeffrey) Rice of Conestoga; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Edie (Samuel) Nail of Hilliards and Irma (Bill) Wealand, Middletown; eight brothers, Fred (Nellie) Blair of Hermitage, Clair (Jane) Blair of Clintonville, Earl (Lois) Blair of Chicago, Johnnie (Renata) Blair, Harold Blair and Homer Blair, all of Petrolia, Art Blair of Tok, Alaska, and George (Paula) of Grandville, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her son, Dale William Siegrist; two brothers, Ken and Dean; and a sister, Bernice.
<B>GROMLING</B> — Relatives and friends of Mary L. Gromling, who died Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009, are invited to attend her funeral at 11 a.m. Saturday at the <B>Sheetz Funeral Home</B>, 16 E. Main St., Mount Joy. Interment will follow in the Ironville Cemetery.
