Edward J. Holleran
Edward J. "Ed" Holleran, 93, a resident of the Vincentian Home in McCandless Township, formerly of Adams Township, Mars, died Wednesday evening at Vincentian.
Born in Pittsburgh, Aug. 28, 1916, he was the son of the late Michael and Mary McShane Holleran.
Ed was a dairy farmer for more than 40 years on Clarks Lane, Mars.
After graduating from Duquesne University in 1939, he served with the U.S. Army, Quartermaster Corps during World War II.
He was a member of St. Kilian Roman Catholic Church in Mars, where he belonged to the Men's Club, the choir and St. Vincent DePaul Society. He also belonged to the Butler Days Inn Senior Swim Group.
In 1998, he was inducted into the Pennsylvania Voter Hall of Fame for having voted for 50 consecutive years.
Mr. Holleran was the husband of the late Mary Olive (Baker) Holleran, who he married Jan. 4, 1943. He also was preceded in death by his siblings, Kathleen H. Haynes of Bethel Park, John M. Holleran of Westlake, Ohio, Mary Alice Huber of Cranberry Township and Michael G. Holleran of Glenshaw.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at the St. Kilian Roman Catholic church, 212 Hook St., Mars, with the Rev. Charles Bober, pastor, officiating.
