R. Douglas Byers
R. Douglas Byers, 51, of Evans City passed away suddenly Sunday afternoon at his home of an apparent heart attack.
Born in Butler on Nov. 28, 1957, he was the son of Eva M. Reisinger Byers and the late Richard K. Byers.
He was a Protestant.
He started working for McCulloughs Candy, Evans City, at the age of 16, buying the business at age 21 and closing it in 1999.
He was a member of the Evans City Volunteer Fire Department.
Surviving are his mother of Evans City; three sisters, Lucille (Lawrence) Dunbar of Evans City, Janet (James) Shaffer of Evans City and Faye Parenti of Cranberry Township; a special niece and nephew, Kim (Don) Davidson of Evans City and Bill Parenti of Cranberry Township; and grandnieces and a grandnephew, Kasey Davidson, Maria Parenti and Jack Parenti.
<B>BYERS</B> — As per the wish of R. Douglas Byers, who died Sunday, Oct. 4, 2009, he was cremated.
