Gladys Elizabeth Thomas, 93, of Butler passed away Tuesday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born May 22, 1916, in Lawrence County, the daughter of the late Clyde Mortimer and Maude (Irwin) Mortimer.

Gladys was a member of the Community Alliance Church.

She enjoyed bowling.

Surviving are her son and his wife, Larry A. and Anna Mae Thomas of Plum; a daughter-in-law, Cora Thomas of Butler; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Boyd Thomas; a son, Ronald Thomas; a sister; and two brothers.

<B>THOMAS</B> — Friends of Gladys Elizabeth Thomas, who died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009, will be received from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. Thursday at the <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St. Her grandson, Pastor Robert Thomas of the Community Alliance Church, will officiate.
